Greg Cox, PT
Owner / Clinical Director
Greg is a graduate of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. Mr. Cox specializes in evaluating and treating balance disorders and has developed and managed many hospital and clinic balance disorder programs nation-wide. He is also the creator of "Balance Challenge" group balance and fall prevention classes that are offered throughout Southern California.
Along with clinical practice, Greg professionally consults and lectures on a wide variety of health and balance related topics to the medical community and public. Educational publications, news interviews and radio lectures are just some of his credits and Greg is currently involved in a number of research studies on balance disorders. Topics in publication are; "The Evaluation and Treatment Manual for Physical Therapist", "Is Dizziness an Accurate Clinical Indicator of Vestibular Dysfunction" and a 1997 study for the California DMV "The affects of alcohol on VOR". Greg has authored an extensive on-line interactive education course on vestibular disorders, the first of its type. Moreover, he conducts professional continuing education and certification classes in vestibular and balance disorders for MDs, and rehabilitation professionals.
Jeremy Cowin, PTA, CFST
Jeremy is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, a graduate of Loma Linda University. He is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor for PTA students through the APTA. He has also worked at Orthopedic Hospital in orthopedics, wound-care and aquatic-rehab, where he honed his skills in manual therapy. Jeremy also has an extensive background in community education. He has worked with The Balance Disorders Institute in Beverly Hills for many years and has continued to expand his interests and knowledge for balance and vestibular rehab. He taught at Concorde Career College in North Hollywood as the PTA Lab Instructor, and is the founder of Arroyo Physical Therapy.
Jeremy is also a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist. FST™ aids in reducing pain, improves posture & body awareness, mobility, agility, speed, flexibility, athletic performance enhancement and injury prevention . Christy, our Administrator, is based out of the Victorville office. She oversees the daily functions of the company as well as marketing/liaison for our three locations.
Christy has over 32 years of business experience which includes employment as Assistant Controller for a women’s apparel chain; Assistant Controller of a multi-faceted private lending institution; Commercial Accounting Manager for a large accounting firm performing forensic accounting; owner of a personal assistant services company and has worked within administration for a home health agency.
Christy has always been involved with health care, whether it be privately or professionally. She received her nursing assistant certification while she was in high school and, although she did not pursue the medical field early on, her personal life has led her to assist family and friends through a multitude of health issues from normal life concerns to hospice care.
Christina's career began as an Administrative Assistant for a life insurance company. At the appropriate time she took leave from public employment to dedicate her full attention to her husband and children as well as continue her education in the field of Business Education Technology. In the interim she was employed by a physical therapy office as an Administrative Assistant and was subsequently promoted to Office Manager.
After four years and the closure of that office, she was fortunate to join two companies, part time, one of which is Arroyo Physical Therapy / Total Rehab. In addition, she handles property management for her extended family and accounting for her husband's business. All that being said, her heart and her passion is still being with her family and having fun!
Nancy Russell, PT
Senior Rehabilitation Specialist, Pasadena Office
Nancy graduated from USC School of Physical Therapy in 1961 and has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1960. She has had intensive experience in cystic fibrosis, orthopedics, wound care, neurological conditions, strokes, home health care and balance disorders. Nancy is a dedicated life long learner to improve her professional expertise. She regularly attends courses and workshops for professional development staying current on the newest information related to the practice of physical therapy.
Nancy’s life experiences enhance her professional skills. She has traveled extensively in the United States and internationally, has been a team manager for several United States Fencing Association teams and youth camps in the U. S. and abroad, has been a hospice volunteer, is a certified teacher for grades K through 9, has lived on a sailboat and cruised the California Coast and has recently taken up driving miniature horses in horse shows.
Most recently Nancy has focused her attention on people who are at high risk of falling including senior citizens as well as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s patients. In addition to designing custom tailored exercise programs, she emphasizes both patient and care giver education that stresses the importance of regular exercise and strategies for decreasing the risk of falls during activities of daily living.
Katie Salyer, PT, DPT
Katie grew up in Orange County, CA and received her BS in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton. She then went on to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2014. She has had experience in orthopeadic outpatient practices throughout Southern California as well as worked in St Joseph Hospital’s acute care in Orange. She received her vestibular training when she spent 4 months working in the Vestibular Department of the Naval Medical Center in San Diego treating patients with various balance and vestibular disorders. She also volunteers in a Dance for Parkinson’s class at Pasadena’s Lineage Dance and is LSVT®BIG Certified. Katie enjoys using her school, work, and dance experience to help patients of all ages improve their dizziness and balance issues.
Alana Reyes, PTA
Alana is a graduate of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Loma Linda University, where she assisted in teaching the summer Anatomy program for the class of 2018.
Alana previously volunteered in the Cardiac Heart Failure clinic at the High Desert Heart Institute, as well as the Adapted Kinesiology Program at Orange Coast College where she worked with a wide range of students with disabilities. After her clinical experience in a community rehabilitation hospital and taking care of her grandmother, it became clear to Alana that her passion resided in treating the geriatric population and those with neurological disorders. She plans to further expand her knowledge and experience in vestibular and neurological rehabilitation in order to help others achieve their personal functional goals.
In her free time, Alana enjoys hiking, camping, watching football, spending time with her family, friends, and most importantly, her dog, Cooper.
Erin Saluta, PTA
Palm Desert Office
Erin is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and a graduate from The College of the Sequoias. With a strong background in In-Patient Rehab, she brings with her a profound sense of movement awareness after 15 years of working in Recreation, where she honed her skills for helping people achieve their functional goals.
She has a degree in English from Hollins University as well as a Master of Science from CSU, Sacramento in Recreation Administration.
She’s had such crazy positions as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, a high ropes course facilitator and being the “Fun Boss” onboard two US Navy aircraft carriers. When Erin isn’t in the clinic, you can find her riding her bicycle around town in preparation for some crazy long bike ride she is sure to be doing. And if it’s too windy to be riding she is most likely reading a book.
Kelly Chilson, PT, DPT / CMPT
Kelly grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated from Loma Linda with a DPT in 2008. Kelly has worked in outpatient most of her career with a variety of patients, including post op, orthopedic, and vestibular. Recently she moved back to sunny So. Cal and is certified in manual physical therapy from NAIOMT. She enjoys going to dog friendly places, hiking, biking, and dancing.
Danielle Spidle, PTA
Danielle is a PTA, she graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology as well as a degree in PT Assistant from Cerritos. She has over 15 years in the orthopedic field and enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Her manual techniques and strength training combined have proven to be beneficial in achieving success. If one of the treatments is not helping she is not afraid to try another approach to help her patients feel better.
She is currently per-diem with Arroyo Physical Therapy so she can spend quality time with her children. After work, she assists with the cross country, volleyball and basketball teams at her children's schools. When she is not working out, she will be in the kitchen cooking up something new for her family.
Jim Rawson, CFST
Palm Desert Office
Jim was born and raised on the east coast, lived in the Midwest and has finally settled in the West Coast. He has been a resident of Palm Desert, California since 2012 where he found his passion of helping people reach their true health potential.
Although he has experience with all ages, he has found his passion for seniors and is driven by focusing and developing exercise programs for those who are 55+. Many of his clients are 85-90, and they have had great success with recognizable life changing benefits since starting their programs.
He is a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist as well, which is a very therapeutic and functional stretching practice that is the new wave in body work.
